REGISTERED BLACK ANGUS REDUCTION SALE AT PIRVATE TREATY
We are offering for sale at private treaty the opportunity to purchase one or as many as you choose from our herd of 85cows. These cows range in age from first calve heifers to nine year old cows.
All cows are in good flesh and have been on strict herd health program. All cattle have been wormed three times a year, all vaccinations and mineral paste. Purina Wind and Rain Mineral are always provided free choice.

All cows have been AI bred to ABS bulls. The bulls that we have bred these cows to are; MYTTY IN FOCUS, PREDESTINED N5905, CONNEALY LEAD ON, MCC DAYBREAK, SYDGEN MANDATE, SYDGEN C C & 7, NEW DESIGN 458N, HA IMAGE MAKER, SUMMITCREST COMPLETE.
Currently we have 34 cow calf pairs some of which are already AI bred back. 26 cows will calve this fall and the balance will begin to calve in March 2011.

Did you know Angus cattle are special compared to other breeds, but how does the meat compare to the meat from other breeds? Is Angus beef really worthy of the hoop-la.
Angus Beef standards were developed in 1978. They were brought about in order to indicate particular levels of marbling, tenderness, age and color for the meat that qualified for the Angus Beef label. Angus Beef is known for its fine marbled meat, which means that the fat is evenly dispersed against the actual cut of meat. This marbling meat trait of Angus typically creates a more tender, juicy and flavorful meat than other breeds.
Cattle Branding
The American Angus Association requires that farmers permanently mark their cattle in order to provide identification. Tattoos, freeze-brand marks and hot-brand marks all pass as acceptable forms of identification. The Association says that a proper mark is centered horizontally and placed in the upper third of each ear.
There are different labels and categories for the quality of Angus beef, which shows that not all Angus Beef is created equal. For instance, Certified Angus Beef is the highest quality because of all the strict standards it must pass to earn the label. Within this realm of definitions for beef quality, there are United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. The terms for these are: prime, choice and select. Prime is the highest quality meat, therefore the best cut of meat you could get would be "Certified Angus Prime".
